As of October 4, 2021, Nova Scotia moved into phase 5 (five) of it’s re-opening plan. This Phase is being described as the new normal, living with COVID.
- There will be no gathering limits for events hosted by a business or organization, which include: weddings, funerals, and faith gatherings.
- Wearing a non-medical mask is required (by law) in most indoor public places, which includes places of worship and faith gatherings.
- Proof of full vaccination isn’t required at faith services (regular faith service such as weekly service on Sundays) or Sunday School, but all other activities require proof of vaccination (by law). This includes Men’s and Women’s Groups, Youth Groups, Bible Study Groups and at meetings. If it is a regular group with the same people then proof of vaccination can be obtained once and does not need to be done each time the group meets.
- Children who turn 12 between 1 January and 4 October 2021 have until 31 December 2021 to attend events and activities while they get vaccinated. Children who turn 12 after 4 October 2021 have 3 months from their birthday to get vaccinated. If you’re 13 to 18 and have proof of vaccination that you received 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine, you can participate in sport, recreation, arts and culture programming hosted by a business or organization. To continue participating, you must provide proof of full vaccination by 9 November 2021 (you need to get a first dose no later than 28 September and a second dose no later than 26 October).
- Proof of full vaccination is required (by law) at indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies and funerals, including receptions and visitations. For more information see https://novascotia.ca/reopening-plan/phase-five/ As part of our Church’s COVID-19 Re Entry Plan… for Sunday Services hand sanitizer is available, physical distancing must be observed, by provincial order the wearing of masks is mandatory (excluding the worship leader), no passing of the collection plate (plate will be available at the back), or shaking hands will take place. Quiet congregational singing with masks is now permitted. People are reminded to have increased hygiene, and if sick, to stay home. Thank you for your co-operation. Online worship resources continue to be offered.
