Based on the latest advice from the government and the United Church of Canada, all our churches will be closed and all worship and programs suspended.
However, just because our buildings are closed, it does not mean our ministry has ceased to function. If you have pastoral concerns, or need assistance in any way, please call the minister at 902-833-2920 or reach out through email or messenger.
Also, everyone is encouraged to reach out to your neighbors, especially those who live alone. We are called to serve each other.
We will be posting some online worship resources for home in the coming days.
The expenses of the church will continue, so we ask as much as you are able, to continue to support the work of Christ through your offering. If you wish to have offerings picked up, please call. If you are not on our monthly PAR service and wish to give electronically, you can do so through Canada Helps. https://www.canadahelps.org/en/ You also may choose to drop off or mail your offering.
For more information on COVID-19 in the province, please refer to the provincial website: https://novascotia.ca/CoronaVirus/
Please be in prayer for all who are affected, and for those providing care or leadership.
Join us in praying for each other and the world around us.
The Right Rev. Richard Bott, Moderator, The United Church of Canada, shares this prayer:
When we aren’t sure, God, help us to be calm; when information comes from all sides, correct and not, help us discern; when fear makes it hard to breathe, and anxiety seems to be the portion of the day, slow us down; help us to reach out with our hearts, when we can’t touch with our hands; help us to be socially connected, when we have to be socially distant; help us to love as perfectly as we can, knowing that “perfect love casts out all fear”. Amen.
God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
